Yakisoba with European Corinthian black raisins

Yakisoba with European Corinthian black raisins is an interesting fusion dish that combines the savory flavors of Japanese yakisoba noodles with the sweetness of European Corinthian  black raisins. Here's a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams yakisoba noodles (fresh or dried)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup European Corinthian black raisins
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. If using dried yakisoba noodles, cook them according to the package instructions until al dente. If using fresh noodles, blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, and sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

  3. Add the julienned carrot, sliced bell pepper, and thinly sliced cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  4. Add the cooked yakisoba noodles to the skillet, along with the black raisins. Stir to combine all the ingredients evenly.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and vegetables, and toss everything together until well coated.

  6. Continue to stir-fry the yakisoba mixture for another 2-3 minutes, or until everything is heated through and the flavors have melded together.

  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a saucier yakisoba, you can add a splash of water or chicken broth.

  8. Once everything is cooked and seasoned to your liking, remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the yakisoba to serving plates.

  9. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, if desired.

  10. Serve the yakisoba with European Corinthian black raisins hot, and enjoy the unique combination of savory and sweet flavors!
